Fishing Report Hub New Zealand gives the tide times and bite times for the beaches, harbours and towns New Zealanders search for, with an honest daily outlook built from an open weather model and astronomical calculation. It is not a catch report: we do not know what was caught off the wharf yesterday, and we do not pretend to.
Every figure has a source you can open: a LINZ tide prediction with its port, a weather model with its coordinates, an MPI rule with the date we read it, a licence price with the agency page. Where a figure is a model, an estimate or a calculation, the page says which. Where an agency publishes nothing, we say so instead of guessing.
Pages are written in New Zealand English, in metric units and in New Zealand dollars including GST. Place names follow the New Zealand Gazetteer, macrons included. We use te reo Mฤori names where the official source does, and we do not publish maramataka night names or ratings.
The text is drafted with AI from the official sources listed on each page and checked against them; anything that cannot be verified is taken out. The siteโs founder sets every guideline, the data-verification system and the minimum standards for publishing, reviews page structure and approves what goes live, and the responsibility is his; the AI carries out the work. No native New Zealand reviewer has read these pages yet.
A place gets a page when New Zealanders search for its tides and LINZ predicts the tide at a port within about 15 km. Two names for the same spot with the same port share one page, so the site does not publish near-identical pages.
When a figure turns out to be wrong, including when the error is ours, it goes in the verification log with the date, what it was checked against and what we did. We do not correct quietly.
We do not sell links, swap links or publish sponsored content. The agencies we link are linked because they are the source.
