Fishing Report Hub Australia is a daily conditions report for the waters Australians search for, built every morning from public data: the Bureau of Meteorology’s water gauges, an open weather model and astronomical calculation. It is not a catch report. We do not know what was caught at Adelaide’s jetties yesterday, and we do not pretend to; if an angler tells us, moderated and under their own name, we publish it as theirs.
Every figure on a page has a source you can open: a gauge with its station number and the time of the reading, a weather model with the coordinates it was asked for, a licence fee with the agency page and the date we read it. Where a figure is a model, an estimate or a calculation, the page says which. Where an agency publishes nothing, we say “not published” or “not verified” rather than fill the gap from a third-party site, which is why the Australian Capital Territory licence page says, today, that we do not know.
Pages in the Australian section are written in Australian English, in metric units and in Australian dollars, for the southern year. The species, the seasons and the tactics are written for these waters, not translated from the American site.
The text is written and checked by the site’s author against the official sources listed on each page. It has not yet been reviewed by an Australian angler or editor. When a real person reviews a page, their name and the date go on it; until then, no reviewer is claimed.
When a figure turns out to be wrong, including when the error is ours, it goes in the verification log with the date, what it was checked against and what we did. We do not correct quietly.
We do not sell links, swap links or publish sponsored content, in Australia or anywhere else on the site. The agencies we link are linked because they are the source.
