A pass-through lake

LCRA's Starcke Dam, completed in 1951 for hydroelectric power, forms Lake Marble Falls: 613 acres, 5.75 miles long and 1,080 feet at its widest. LCRA calls Starcke the smallest dam in the Highland Lakes chain and the last one completed. Lake LBJ lies just upstream and Lake Travis just downstream. LCRA runs Marble Falls as a pass-through lake within a target range of 736.2 to 737 feet, says none of the Highland Lakes is a constant-level lake, and occasionally lowers pass-through lakes to control nuisance vegetation and let owners repair docks.
