This is shallow power fishing: flipping mats and reed heads with heavy braid, swim jigs and spinnerbaits down the grass lines, wild shiners under corks for the giants (the guide standard). The bite runs November-April at its best (cooler water, spawning waves moving to the hayfields); summer means first-light topwater and deeper outside edges. Key areas rotate with grass health: the Monkey Box, King's Bar, Ritta and the Shoal.
