Georgia State Parks describes Lake Seminole as a 37,500-acre reservoir on the flooded Chattahoochee and Flint rivers in southwest Georgia. Seminole State Park on its shore covers 1,478 acres around a small cove and has three boat ramps and a fishing dock. The Corps of Engineers runs further recreation areas, among them Chattahoochee Park, Eastbank Campground, Faceville Landing, Hales Landing and Rays Lake.

One lake, two licenses

Under Georgia's agreement with Florida, anyone with a valid Georgia or Florida fishing license may sport fish in the lower lake: the waters and banks bounded on the west by Florida State Road 271, on the south by Jim Woodruff Dam, on the east by a line from just east of the Chattahoochee Marina (the Booster Club) northwest across the reservoir to the tip of land at the Flint-Chattahoochee junction west of Spring Creek, and on the north by the Herman Talmadge Bridge. Georgia's Honorary Disability License is not recognized by Florida. Georgia rules apply on the Georgia portion and Florida rules on the Florida portion; a separate Georgia-Alabama agreement covers Lake Seminole outside that zone.
