Tennessee waters (TWRA): black bass 5 a day, largemouth and smallmouth 15-inch minimum, spotted bass no minimum; crappie 20 a day, 10-inch minimum; catfish no limit up to 34 inches, one over 34 inches a day; striped or hybrid bass 2 a day, 15 inches; white bass 15; walleye 5 at 16 inches; sauger 10 at 15 inches; redear 20. Kentucky waters follow KDFWR rules, which could not be read today.

Two states, one reservoir

TWRA gives Barkley Reservoir 57,920 acres, about 10,350 of them in Tennessee and 47,570 in Kentucky, managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on the Cumberland River. The pool moves between 354 and 359 feet above sea level, reaching full pool around May 1 and falling toward winter pool after July 4. A navigation canal connects it to the Tennessee River.
