Caney Lake's 5,000 acres produced most of Louisiana's top-ten bass (the state record 15.97 among them): Florida genetics meeting hydrilla fertility in a pine-hills bowl. The 1990s legend cooled but never died: double-digit fish still come off the grass every spring, and the lake remains the state's serious-trophy address.
