The Bemboka at Morans Crossing
The Bemboka River runs off the Brown Mountain escarpment below the Monaro through the village of Bemboka toward the Bega valley; Morans Crossing is a crossing on the river downstream of the village, in dairy country. Trout are the fish of the upper Bemboka, in the runs and pools below the escarpment, taken on the fly, small spinners and bait. The river is a trout stream under the New South Wales season: closed from the Tuesday after the June long weekend to the last Friday before the October long weekend; the species card computes it.
