One lake, one trout

Eagle Lake's rainbows evolved to survive water too alkaline for other trout: the Eagle Lake strain, grown nowhere else naturally, fills the lake with hard-fighting 2-5-lb fish and stocks half the West's waters from its eggs. Fishing here is drinking from the source: trolled flies and nightcrawlers along the tule edges for a genetically unique fish.
