Oklahoma keeps almost everything open all year and reserves its one statewide closure for a fish most people have never targeted: alligator gar, protected for the whole of May.
Every season we have verified in Oklahoma
One block per rule, because a single species can be on two calendars in the same state depending on the water. The band under each heading is the legal season; the row under it is what our own data says the fish are doing.
Bass — Statewide
The one-over-sixteen rule is the interesting part: you may keep six, but only one of them can be a good one. Spotted bass has no limit at all, which is a deliberate nudge to remove them from waters where they compete with largemouth.

Walleye — Statewide
No closed season. Paddlefish, by contrast, is capped at one a day and two a year, and the state runs a research station on the Neosho that anglers are asked to use.

Trout — Statewide
Trout in Oklahoma is a stocked winter fishery in a handful of tailwaters and park lakes rather than a wild one. The statewide closure worth knowing is on a different species entirely: taking or attempting to take alligator gar is prohibited statewide from May 1 to 31.

What the water is doing while the season is open
This is the part an agency page will not tell you. The temperature row above is the seasonal curve we use for the 11 of 20 Oklahoma waters we track on a southern reservoir profile, and it is why an opening date and a fishable date are not the same thing. A season that opens while the water is still in the forties is a legal invitation, not a biological one: the fish are there, they are just not eating on your schedule yet.
