LCRA prohibits bowfishing.

TPWD lists Fayette County Reservoir at 2,400 acres and 70 feet deep, impounded in 1978 as a power plant cooling reservoir 10 miles east of La Grange; LCRA controls it. The heated water keeps bass active in winter and early spring, and the warmest water is in the discharge canal, whose current draws large schools of baitfish.
