Zebra mussels are present.

The Corps runs the major parks or leases them to nearby cities, and most charge an entrance or ramp fee. TPWD's access map lists 17 sites, including Hidden Cove, Stewart's Creek, Little Elm Park, Copperas Branch, Pilot Knoll and Lewisville City Park. On Oct. 8, 2026 the Corps listed Oakland Park closed for flood repairs and Big Sandy, Doe Branch and Westlake open.
