Where Michigan's rules start

Michigan's regulations define the St. Clair River as a Great Lakes connecting water beginning at the Fort Gratiot Light. Walleye are open all year with a 15-inch minimum, and the daily possession limit is the one the DNR sets each year by May 1 for Lake Erie, the Detroit River, Lake St. Clair and the St. Clair River (6 under the current rules).

Lake sturgeon

The DNR lists Lake St. Clair and the St. Clair River among the few Michigan waters with a sturgeon possession season.
