The road to the ocean

Seward ends the Seward Highway at Resurrection Bay: Anchorage's ocean access and Alaska's most turnkey saltwater town. The charter fleet (halibut, silvers, rockfish, lingcod) sails protected water between glacier walls: the August Silver Salmon Derby is the state's oldest: and the bay forgives weather that closes every outer coast.
